Position Title: Residential Protection Agent

Reports To: Embedded Director of Executive Protection

Job Summary: White Glove Protection Group is seeking highly professional, discreet, and service-oriented Residential Protection Agents to provide protective security at the residences of high-net-worth individuals and their families in California. The Residential Protection Agent is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and low-profile residential environment through vigilant observation, access control, incident prevention, and professional coordination with household staff, vendors, and leadership.

This role requires strong judgment, emotional intelligence, sound communication, and the ability to operate in a private residential setting with confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism. The agent must perform all duties in compliance with California law, company policy, and client-specific post orders.

Shift: 12 hour shifts (8 hours regular time / 4 hours overtime)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Residential Security Operations

  • Conduct routine and irregular security patrols and protective sweeps of the residence, grounds, perimeter, and other designated areas.

  • Identify security vulnerabilities, unsafe conditions, suspicious behavior, and unusual activity, and take appropriate action consistent with training and post orders.

  • Maintain a visible but professional security presence that supports safety without disrupting the household environment.

  • Support a secure residential atmosphere for principals, family members, guests, and staff.

2. Executive Protection Team Integration

  • Operate as part of a broader executive protection program, coordinating with detail leaders, drivers, protective intelligence personnel, and other agents as assigned.

  • Provide residential continuity and real-time situational awareness to the protective detail regarding issues that may affect the principal, family, residence, or movement plans.

  • Support protective advances, arrivals/departures, transitions, and coverage shifts tied to the principal’s schedule and risk profile.

  • Assist with protective operations beyond the residence when directed and appropriately assigned.

3. Monitoring and Surveillance

  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, intercoms, access control systems, radios, phones, and other security technology to maintain situational awareness.

  • Assess incoming information and promptly escalate threats, incidents, or emergencies through the appropriate chain of command.

  • Document incidents, observations, maintenance concerns, visitor activity, and shift activity in a clear, timely, and professional manner.

4. Access Control and Visitor Management

  • Control access to the residence and property in accordance with established procedures and client directives.

  • Verify the identity, authorization, and purpose of visitors, vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel prior to granting access.

  • Secure gates, doors, windows, alarm zones, and other physical security measures as directed.

  • Challenge unauthorized persons in a professional and lawful manner and notify leadership or law enforcement when appropriate.

5. Emergency Preparedness and Response

  • Respond effectively to alarms, medical incidents, disturbances, trespassers, fire/life-safety issues, and other emergencies.

  • Support emergency action plans, shelter-in-place procedures, evacuation procedures, and communications protocols.

  • Coordinate with supervisors, emergency responders, and local law enforcement when necessary.

  • Preserve scene integrity, protect life, and document incidents thoroughly following any event.

6. Vendor and Contractor Escorts

  • Escort and monitor vendors, contractors, maintenance personnel, movers, and other service providers while on the property, as required.

  • Ensure work areas remain within authorized zones and that vendor activity does not create safety, privacy, or security concerns.

  • Coordinate arrivals, departures, and work completion with designated household or family office representatives.

7. Coordination with Household and Family Office Staff

  • Work collaboratively with estate managers, executive assistants, household staff, drivers, and other support personnel to ensure a unified security posture.

  • Communicate relevant security information to appropriate stakeholders while maintaining strict confidentiality and need-to-know discipline.

  • Support a hospitality-minded culture while preserving protective standards and boundaries.

8. Reporting and Documentation

  • Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, shift logs, and other required documentation accurately and on time.

  • Report security concerns, equipment issues, policy violations, and unusual incidents to management promptly.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all client, family, household, operational, and business information.

Required Qualifications:

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Advanced education or relevant certifications in security or law enforcement are preferred.

License: 

  • Current California BSIS Guard Card, Exposed Firearm Permit, and CCW/LEOSA, or be able to obtain and maintain one as a condition of employment.

  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.

  • Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record preferred or required if driving duties are assigned.

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in residential security, executive protection, law enforcement, military, or a closely related field preferred.

  • Experience working in high-net-worth, family office, estate, or private residential environments strongly preferred.

  • Experience with incident response, access control, surveillance systems, and client-facing security operations preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of residential security operations, access control, perimeter security, and emergency response.

  • Strong verbal de-escalation, conflict management, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to assess developing situations quickly and make sound, lawful, and client-centered decisions under pressure.

  • Strong report writing and documentation ability.

  • Working knowledge of surveillance systems, alarm platforms, radios, mobile communications, and basic security technology.

  • Ability to interact professionally with principals, family members, guests, household staff, vendors, and first responders.

  • Strong understanding of discretion, confidentiality, and professional boundaries in a private residence.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a broader protective team.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in and around private residences, estates, and related properties.

  • Schedules may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and extended shifts based on client needs.

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and respond rapidly to emergencies.

  • May be required to lift or move equipment and perform physical security duties consistent with the role.
